This sci-fi movie's lack of scientific realism did not get in the way of its main purpose to explore important themes about humanity and relationships. Our crazy world needs more of this beautiful gentle touch, and less of the twisted psychology and gratuitious violence that many critics of this movie were no doubt hoping for. You won't be shocked or riveted, but hey that is just fine and a welcome break from the news of the world.

Some funny moments and the actors did a good job, but there is only so much they could do with the quirky script. Ultimately the characters are two-dimensional and the humor and plot unredeeming. I felt more frustrated than satisfied at the end.
