This book was a wonderful eye-opener. The herd that stopped when a youngun
went to his mother's bones and cried was proof enough for me that these animals have, not just feelings, but deep memories and emotional lives that show us how wrong we are to think that only we have these traits.

What an incredible album! What a fabulous group! Any album with Eric Dolphy starts out with a plus. Also Freddie Hubbard. The music, composed by Oliver Nelson, is fine. (The 2nd selection 'Hoedown' while credited to Nelson as composer, is really an arrangement of the Aaron Copland piece.) This is an album, like 'Kinda Blue' or 'Jazz Samba', that belongs in any jazz collection!
