This book talks about addiction, a really heartbreaking thing no man, nor woman should ever go through. As a society, we must learn about dangers, and this book exposes one of the most dangerous epidemics. I want to keep the explanation short, but, meaningful and easy to understand.
We start off at the caterpillar phase, early in this phase, the caterpillar eats the leaves, this starts the addiction. Then, we have late caterpillar phase. The addiction is really kicking in. Anger starts, driving it to eat more. Denial kicks in, the caterpillar doesn’t want to accept thst it’s addicted, though, it knows. Then comes depression. The caterpillar regrets eating the plants, but, it feels as if it’s stuck. The cocoon is a metaphor for it feeling stuck. This is where bargaining starts, the caterpillar gets time to try to stop. It is struggling though. Acceptance is next. The caterpillar accepts that it is addicted, this is when the caterpillar breaks out of its cocoon. It is a changed insect. It has essentially evolved. It is not a caterpillar, it is a butterfly. It changes. it sucks nectar, a much healthier substance.
Though the insect doesn’t seem to go through guilt or sadness, it is still a phenomenal book that talks about a subject many authors don’t know how to describe.
100/100. Just, amazing
