Well being that I grew up on the outer Banks and my parents live in Charleston. As well as I was a guide. I can find inconsistencies, also the cast is like in their late twenties and they're playing high School / college age students... other than that the shows not bad. I keep on watching because I love seeing the background and seeing places that I grew up going to. and in the first episode how they talk about the different types of kids that's truly how it is, you've got the kids that come down and stay in the rentals for a week, you have the kids that come down and stay for the summer because their parents own a house, and then you get the kids that actually live there...And I do get this nice nostalgic feeling when I watch it, when I say I was a live-aboard, that we actually live on our boats. one thing they have done a good job of it showing what life is like when you live on the outer Banks. It's a different world, you live on the water you take a boat everywhere instead of a car. Going to the mainland always sucked... Because it gets super hot and humid and dry and the mosquitoes eat you alive. With the outer Banks we have lots of outlying islands and then there's the pamlico sound which separates everybody else from the mainland.. it would definitely be worth living there if you get the chance but during the non summer times it can get a bit boring... Like the real world... But through June through October, it's sort of like being in key West without the Clearwater..
