What is happening? Oh, O.K. it's about Leonard Bernstein. He is gay and also straight. O.K. cool. So what's the point of this? It's still on? How long is this?

This really shouldn't work...but somehow, it not only works but makes so much sense that it becomes a natural continuation of the original films. The success of this concept is the way the idea of a "bad guy" and a "good guy" are done away with. To continue the narrative in this way is funny, bold, and well worth a few hours to watch.

Waste of time soft porn masquerading as art.

I want to give this a higher rating, but can't. This film tells it's story by borrowing thematic elements and cinematography from Terence Malick's Thin Red Line, a far far better film.

The Art World is one which is all too easily satirized, and though there are sharp moments of humor here, they are lost amongst B-movie horror tropes and gimmicky supernatural dross. Performances are solid, but in a film where Freddy Krueger is being played by Henry Darger.

Formulaic tough kid learns to trust in this badly dubbed regurgitation of a thousand Hallmark Channel movies.

A very poor effort by Pixar, a rare miss, and a sad harbinger for the future of this once transcendent studio. Whereas Pixar was once the cutting edge of modern cinematic storytelling, this film is but a trite exercise in mass market blandness.

Probably the best film about WW2 Carrier operations yet made...unfortunately hamstrung with dialogue seemingly designed for translation into Mandarin Chinese, because it sure doesn't read well in English. Japanese are depicted as one-dimensional, bland stereotypes, but then again, so is everyone else in this film. The real star of this movie: The SBD Dauntless dive bomber, presented in glorious CGI. Not even the Zero's chasing the movie's heroes are crafted as meticulously or as lovingly as the digital bolts holding those old flying crates together. 2 Stars for the movie as a whole but 5 Stars for the action sequences.
