The movie was pretty cool, I sometimes play racing games (FH5, but some people consider it as an arcade game). I love the relationships and trust building with various characters. Even though the story is simplified, I like a lot each scenes of the movie to explain and prepare for the next one.
I LOVE the deconstruction of the vehicle and the transitions from a racing setup to being in the car, and the sounds are top notch. I felt like every scene had a purpose in the movie. Also, the overlays on top of vehicles and the sounds from Gran Turismo bring me back memories from when I played it with my big brother 8+ years ago.
Even though some are complaining about the timeline, ( I didn’t know much about the story before), it feels pretty fine, I didn’t see any problematic scenes in the movie. As for the period this movie is supposed to be in, I think the movie progresses a bit faster than what actually happened, but I don’t think it’s bad that they put various cars from different eras in the movie, as it’s still what you would normally expect from a movie in 2023.
I haven’t watched that many movies in my life yet, but as a young adult, it has become my favorite movie. Plus, now I want to have a proper setup for my wheel (add a stand) and buy Forza Motorsport very soon, as the movie made me discover what happens on and around the track.
