My father migrated from a village called Nonikheer (may be called loonkhir in local dialect) in Faridpur, Bangladesh in the decade of 1920 - 30. They did not face the difficulties of partition in 1947. However my aunt (father's elder sister who were married) faced it. Later periods like 1971, post liberation of Bangladesh freedom movement also resulted many such cross border migration.
Though I have no experience of the trauma of leaving the native place, I do feel the emotion, pain and sentiment that people who went through it feel. I could feel the pain while watching the movie.
Adil Hussain, a great actor (much less recognised in India so far) has done a wonderful job. Paoli Dam was also good. The screenplay is well controlled without showing much violence.
Lovely movie. I wish all the best for all the people involved in making the movie.
By the way, anyone knows about the village nonikheer nin Faridpur?
