I expected a modern twist and was surprised and initially dismayed - its just as “50’s” as the original 1964 movie. All classic Disney down to the animation! But it works. Surely a commercial risk for Disney. But what a clever marketing move if it works!! Imagine all those kids too old for those Disney fantasies who are now parents and loving the idea of their own young kids seeing “wholesome” pure fun and fantasy without the cynicism of modern adult-friendly kids movies! This movie could generate a whole new audience for all those old classic Disney movies of 40+ years ago - and no remakes even needed!! Brilliant!
