Just not worth the trip out to the theater. The cast is totally forgettable. There was no chemistry at all between the leads and all the signature musical numbers fell totally flat. Maria’s songs were so high pitched to the point they were inaudible. Anthony’s acting was totally emotionless. The story just seemed disjointed and thrown together. If you are going to take on a classic, you should know that to you can pull it off. They didn’t. I’m surprised Spielberg took this on and gave this his seal of approval. Save the money and hit the library to rent the original which was a classic.
