I consider myself a hardcore fan of the first movie since I can recall it word by word even after many years had passed.
According to this, I was supposed to hate the sequel. However, I really came with low expectations, thinking that this would be just another "nostalgia-inducted cash grab" with a few good jokes and references.
To my surprise, I think that this movie was pretty good. Yeah, it is a movie that does not take itself seriously, but that was the charm of the first movie, don't you agree? There were quite a few good jokes, lots of cameos (Rick and Morty being my favorite), and easter eggs, so I am confident that everyone, both young and old would have a lot of fun while watching this movie.
In conclusion, this movie is capable of filling the shoes left by the original Space Jam. It can hold its own, and I think that it does not deserve the hate people are throwing at it. Furthermore, I am someone who does not care about LeBron James and his "exploits" in NBA, but he had done a good job in this movie, and I praise that.
If you wanna spend the next 2 hours letting your brain out to relax a bit, this is a movie for you. You will find quite a few good jokes and references and you would enjoy it.
However, for those who were expecting this to be some kind of a deep movie with hidden philosophical messages, or simply expected it to nuke the original movie out of the water, this is not a movie for you.
