That's the best Sci-Fi movie I've seen in years, and the best screening of Dune so far.
Everything in the movie is perfect. The plot is evolving in a right pace - without haste, but not too slow. There are no gaps in it, so a person who didn't read the original book will have no problems following it.
The visuals are stunning. Costumes are great. Cast is superb. Unlike all these recent comic-based movies, actors really _do_play_! Harkonnen don't look like a cartoon villain. Paul is not behaving like a spoiled kid - he looks and feels as a responsible, talented, but also very young man who got into a difficult situation and now is doing his best to survive.
Director's attention to details is great. Even such minor things as uniforms and even the instrument panel of the copter is done that it feels authentic. You look at it, and feel - yeah, that's how instruments should look in a world where computers are banned!
