I enjoyed the story. The magic systems were detailed and the progression of the characters triggered all the same dopamine responses as actually playing an RPG. Overall I would say it is worth reading if you enjoy the genre.
That being said, it is a fairly predictable story, and the main character Jason Asano, is the worst written protagonist I have ever encountered in a published work. He is one of the most agonizingly arrogant jerks ever to be put to paper. Arrogant characters are fine, but the problem is he always gets away with it. There are no consequences because he truly is, in the context of the story, the greatest person ever born. He outwits entire governments and organizations with nothing more than stubborn sarcasm and manages to always overpower even the very gods. It is pulp writing. If you like that sort of think then have at it.
