Idk why people are so insensitive abt other ppls hardwork. I have no problem criticizing genuinely bad work.
But this was a well above average movie. It was even written with critics' criticisms in mind. Well rounded, very realistic chxters all the way around. Can hardly find any 1 dimensional chxter anywhere.
Very realistic plot progression.
Could some things have landed better - perhaps, but even the best directors will tell that's very hard to guarantee.
If Spielberg had spunout this same movie, the reviews and profits would v likely be v different.
I can't see how much 'Ready Player One' was better than this movie.
It's pretty much the same quality of output.
RPO beats it in cameos & cult classic themes of course.
But I think this does better with realistic chxters & plot.
If the die hard fans felt dis-serviced abt the Night Elves absence - I imagine the director planned to intro them in the sequels - probably on a more in depth level than to just throw them into an already congested mix.
But idk, the movie is absolute 1st interaction with the franchise.
My advice - forget the critics... see it for yourself.
It's more of a 4 star - but if people can unfairly give it a 1 star - I feel morally obligated to (at least try to) balance the injustice - & give it a 5.
