Great documentary on the life of the great Emperor Maurice. A truly tragic ending with the betrayal of Phocas. This was where it went wrong, where the Empire's hopes of reclaiming its former glory were lost, and where the arab conquest became assured. If only this was not the case, perhaps the middle east could've been better today.
