I picked up the book last summer and immediately could not put it down. I swore for months after reading it that it was the one book I wanted a movie adaptation of. To say this movie was disappointing is an extreme understatement. There was no similarity between the book i fell in love with and this supposed adaptation. The only thing Netflix kept, was the title. There was so much potential for this movie to be great, and I quite honestly just want my two hours back. There was no chemistry between Lina or either love interests, and the setting was wrong. The details in the book should’ve been followed and paid attention to. This was poorly put together and if I were the author, I would not want my name slandered by this film because it was not what Welch wrote. Do better.
