Interesting but not as much as the original. The second narrative about the kid ruins an otherwise clean story.

Belated to the party with this review, clearly. The movie starts out very strong. Exceptional performance by Blanchett. Toward the end, the story got sloppy, almost as if the director/writer got tired and said, let's just wrap this up. For a movie that puts so much weight on right timing, the tempo of the movie was all wrong in the end. It raced through the devolution and ended up in a place that is completely unrealistic. The movie had a potential to be great but ended up being a let down.

It started out alright but then turned ridiculous. How is it that Kate Woodcroft was someone else in the former life and no one recognizes her once she changes her name? Sophie Whitehouse went to school and studied together with her and doesn't put it together for weeks/months? Hire a PI and the whole thing would come out in seconds. And what's with Sophie turning her husband in at the end of the show and going to live in the country side? How? She doesn't have a job! Where does she get the money? Clearly not from her in-laws now that she has sent the father of her two kids to jail! The plot doesn't make sense.
