I think the movie accomplished one thing: the different, unique, and powerful moments of giving birth.
However, after the first, extremely intense scene... the rest of the movie felt unfulfilled. There is another intense scene where the husband essentially tries to rape his wife. It felt like he couldn’t care less about her and just wanted to have sex with her because HE was turned on. To go from the beautiful moments they had together while she was giving birth, to how he was treating her when HE wanted to have sex and she clearly didn’t, was so unrealistic to me.
Everyone moves through pain, trauma, and loss differently. I was looking forward to a film story about that journey - the one of a woman who has lost her child - unfortunately this film did not portray that story of hope to loss to pain to acceptance to growth as I wished it had. I would not recommend watching it.
