Well.....I expected a bit of a learning curve when beginning the game but this takes things to a whole new level. After learning the controls (there are no in-game tutorials) and the settings to eliminate the unbelievable lag in play (YES, CERTAIN SETTINGS ACTUALLY WORK TO SPEED THINGS UP!!!), you still have to deal with either the cheaters, the psychotic narcissists, and/or the possible devs with a god complex who know more about making your life miserable in this game than you could ever possibly imagine. I really get the feeling someone out there does not want noobs to play the game. If you just want to mill about, build structures, create all the innovative trinkets the game has to offer, you can forget it. Allow me to explain. There are supposedly two types, PVE (player vs environment) and PVP (player vs player), servers. If you don't want to battle other players and just deal with the environment and fight creatures, you sign on to a PVE. Yeah, that's what I thought too. Unfortunately, some freak has found a way to wait for you to get back to the dwelling you just spent 3 hours learning how to create (ON A PVE SERVER!!!), then kill you as soon as you open the door (which was locked!!) AND steal all your stuff (which is supposed to be impossible on a PVE) you just spent 2 hours aquiring!! All the while after you wake up you have some sort of totally anoyying coughing (YES! LITTERALLY CONSTANT COUGHING!!) disease that takes 15 different steps, an act of god, AND impossible amounts of stategy (at your current level) to get rid of! And this exact situation played out twice within 4 hours of me starting the game twice with a brand new character, on a different server, AND different area on the map!!! Glad I didnt have to pay for it! Trust me, something is not right with this game.
