Melodramatic and tedious. Adam Sandler sounded like one of his Saturday Night Live characters. Don Cheadle is the best part of the film.

I was really looking forward to watching this film because of it being about an woman in her sixties deciding to have a bat mitzvah. However this film had almost no plot or storyline at all. There was one sequence where the two lovers go to dinner with the older woman’s son and his family which actually had some dramatic moments. But most of this film is boring. Jason Scwhartzman and Carol Kane are good in their roles. I fell asleep at one point. I give it a big thumbs down.

Gross and boring. Not a thriller at all. Nicole Kidman gives a good performance as a dimwitted party girl. John Cusack is just okay as the greasy boyfriend. Big waste of time if you ask me.

Great to see Harrison Ford in comedic and dramatic role. Jason Segel is brilliant as the unconventional therapist. Lukita Maxwell as the daughter is wonderful.

Well written, great acting, best performance of Fraser’s career. Very disturbing portrayal of a tormented man who is estranged from his daughter and wife. Make-up, visual effects, and prosthetics transform the handsome actor into a grotesquely obese “whale”. Extremely sad but moving performance by Brendan Fraser. Sadie Sink is brilliant as the sadistic daughter.
