A strong first episode but the series steadily peters out after that. The addition of the band of young, multiethnic science geniuses was handled particularly poorly, with weak dialogue, limited chemistry, and little justification for the characters other than to appeal to a young audience. I struggled to finish the season. Definitely disappointing, and a sign that the last season of Game of Thrones wasn’t an anomaly. The creators need strong source material to guide them, or their storytelling descends into mediocrity.
