Just watched the programme about a restaurant in the New Forest. In reality it’s a promotional film about The Pig, whic is part a multi-million pound upmarket hotel/ restaurant group owned by private equity firm, KSL Partners. The Pig chain is actually quite formulaic as all the other ‘Pigs’ in the group use exactly the same format with the kitchen garden etc. Hardly unique or remarkable as the programme implies.
Don’t get me wrong, what the group offers is fabulous but as a TV programme it’s just a pure PR exercise! Shame on you BBC and you Fred for your over the top enthusiasm about the ‘amazing’ food which is maybe not that amazing.
