I was introduced to this letter on my mission. A lot of these issues I had already heard before but I was curious so I decided to read it a few times when I returned home. I returned home a few months ago and I did the research and I can conclude this is a complete deception. The arguments on the BOM are either theory without evidence and/or the arguments just fall flat on their face. The geography is weak. The author even admitted such on Reddit and wanted to remove it but others told him to keep it because it drove them out. It’s still there. 80% of the letter is not based on real fact but just takes the out of context 20% truths and twists them to make it a bigger deal than it actually is. There is more but I don’t have the space here to give everything. But lastly, the intent and origin of this letter is not what it claims it is. The author was already in the work of driving people out of the church, including his own family before he even wrote the letter. It claims, “I’m asking questions to restore my testimony”. The dude was already bashing on the church long before the letter was written. In reality it is meant to bash and tear the faith of Latter Day Saints. The author even said “I could never change the CES director’s mind anyway.” wasn’t he trying to restore his testimony? Why was he trying to change the CES directors mind? doesn’t sound honest to me and it gives hint to what he really wants. I’m not trying to judge his character but after what I’ve seen and read, and researched I cannot trust him. Jesus Christ and His church have changed my life for the better and the CES letter is one of the adversary’s tools in the last days to “blind the eyes of the children of men and harden their hearts” (1 Nephi 13). Note* if you think a CES director is an official source, you are misinformed. This letter is a deception with it's background infinitely darker than the color jeremy tries to paint the church with.

Ben Shapiro's feedback was enough for me. On one of Bernie's pages it essentially says "we should stop worrying about policy and if it works but we should care more about the intent and the will." that's a paraphrase, but that is what it is saying. Yep, Stalin, Mao, and Castro they had the intent and the will! They just needed to kill anyone who opposed them, and starve their populations because their policies didn't work, but at least they had the intent and the will! While capitalism has it's flaws, there is always a compromise, but it will always be better than socialism. It has never worked once.
