What a “page-turner”. Ewan Mcgregor was mesmerizing: blatant and nuanced all at once. Having lived through most of those years in San Francisco, I found the cultural depictions of that subculture quite accurate. Unfortunately, I could only dream about Studio 54 but San Francisco had its equivalents. In many circles there was a lot of casual sex and drug use during that time so I felt the frequent sex scenes and drug use were an accurate depiction.
