I loved the opening scene- the use of lighting, audio, angles. Made me feel like I could sense the little girl's dream-like memory of the 'moments before'.
It all fell flat for me after the beach scene. Many things didn't make common sense for me. I'm all good with fantasy, ghosts, aliens.... but when human reactions and behaviors make no sense, and if the dialogue is 2 dimensional, I'm out. I felt the same with "Nope." Peele's opening scenes are stellar, and the concepts are intriguing, and the are always scenes that really stick with me, but overall it fizzles.
