A movie that masters the balance between psychological terror and gore. The last time I saw a piece of cinema maintain this delicate balance was 1408. There is very little “rest time” between the scary scenes. The compounding intensity of the horror continues to build until you watch the main characters finally surrender their will to resist the inescapable fate. The director was very intentional and kept the movie focused on what The audience came to see. No careless tripping in the woods, no dumb mistakes, just pure human instinct built on survival and truth. My body was jacked up on adrenaline and I was in full fight or flight mode leaving the theater. This movie is not for the faint of heart, if you love horror you are in for quite the treat.

Ambitious concept but the treatment of the ONLY black character in the series (the assistant to the professor) absolutely trash. The stereotype of the Asian Biology major character, such a tired troupe. The streak of color just made me cringe. It’s a German film, I don’t know why I expected a proper representation of diversity.

Horribly fails the Bechdel test. The female characters have zero depth beyond their relation to the main male character. The treatment of the female character even if they are in female power roles is still very elementary. The special effects and acting is a little subpar. Waiting on the show to get good, but yeah for a low budget production it’s okay, feel regret about watching it.
