Stylistically and thematically very off for a Marvel movie. It felt more like I was watching the Evil Dead (of which I am also not a fan). Writing was lazy, disjointed, and borderline boring. Characters that we know and love are mistreated and one-dimensional, completely ignoring their character growth from previous appearances. New characters are more cameo than material, and are equally mistreated after all the excitement and build-up to their appearances. Many plotholes, weird editing, no emotional substance. All in all a terrible MCU film. If you like Evil Dead, maybe you'll appreciate this movie. But if you like Marvel, it's a definite skip.
I've seen every single Marvel film for the last 10 years in theaters and watched every show on its release. My interest has been declining recently, but this movie has me rethinking that loyalty. They've officially jumped the shark, and I'm not sure I want to watch another MCU piece if this is where they want to take it.
