Harrison Bergeron

Watchable background noise. A film student’s senior project. An HBO show in 2023 is presented with such high quality and agreeable aesthetics, sprinkled in with a few canonically hot women, they can have a show like White Lotus last for hours and say nothing. If there was some sort of point to be made, it surely was either so transparent that it’s lost or so esoteric that I missed it entirely. This reminds me of the old “monkey on the typewriter making Shakespeare”… except as we learned, the monkeys just end up mashing the keyboard. But then HBO turns it into a miniseries so all is well.
