Clint Eastwood, was portraying a 90 yr old man caught up in the criminal world after a life as a horticulturist. Clint knocked it out of the park. I do not know what the "Critics" expected. Is a 90 year old guy supposed to throw back his serape and kill Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef? Good flick, with a bit of a twist.
