I just saw this the other day and really enjoyed it. Some parts were a little cheesy and over acted but I think that was the point. I mean it's based off of being a play. The songs and performances were very good. I especially loved the cell block tango and Mr. Cellophane ( I'm still singing the latter in my head the next day). I loved the way it was filmed, some shots were just so beautifully captured and really brought you into the movie. Overall, I think it's very good and will be watching it again. I see why it won so many awards at the time.
