I find it incredibly hard to believe that any mariner would not have been prepared for a major storm well in advance, with the mainsail and jib down. Instead, the movie portrays the heroine, as struggling to get the sails down once the storm is in full ferocious fury. I have 40 minutes left to go on the movie and now it looks like there’s going to be another storm. From a seafaring standpoint, so much of this movie either doesn’t make sense or is stupid. No sunblock? No hat against the sun? Perfectly clean hair every day? And did Ben really park at the family’s house and spend 24/seven at his desk monitoring things? I’ll struggle through the rest of it but aside from the scenery, it’s a bit of a stinker.
