While striving to be more accurate to the 2020 rules, the draconian adherence to the tabletop experience hamstrung what could have been a decent video game experience. Bad art direction, bad UX choices, and an apparent disregard for the community.
The feedback of three Betas was largely ignored. Communication and transparency was often tone-deaf and grossly misleading when not completely absent. The MTX model was excessively greedy. The launch was a depressing circus of ineptitude and shame. And the roadmap promising critical game features the better part of a year after launch was the icing on the cake.
Worst of all, while the game is currently failing to attract players in any respectable numbers, it has been effective in splitting the player base of the much superior Blood Bowl 2, hurting the community.
