I enjoy this kind of movie, and this had the potential to be good. Unfortunately because of a deficient script and a genuinely annoying mechanism the director uses of the handheld shaky camera I found it unenjoyable to watch.

Started off great, first and even the second episode were very watchable and you wanted to know what’s going to happen next. Then disaster the series slumps into a paralysis when nothing happens for hours and you find yourself just watching people shouting at each other because of silly scenarios, which I presume are introduced because the story is going nowhere, which then get more silly, and frankly stupidly, as the episodes go on. In the end I found myself completely disinterested and completely indifferent to what was going to happen next to any of the characters. Add to this a director(s) who tries to jazz things up with weird shots and psychedelic scenes which add to the nonsense and you have a mess on your hands.

Great movie. Made you think about things long after it finished, and leave you a little angry. But none the worse for that. Well made, well acted thumping good story. Made even more poignant and shocking by the fact that it actually happened, this is REAL.

This film is just wrong. I just got sick and tired of four allegedly good friends endlessly arguing non-stop for the whole duration of the movie. The acting in places is just not good. And the music is totally inappropriate in certain places. And boy do you get totally fed up with the main lead character Paul, and his endless nonsense and ramblings. Had to watch, impossible to like, not recommended.

This film could not be worse, it’s as if somebody had taken the script and randomly removed huge sections of it thrown it away and then they filmed it. Also the sound is terrible, people mumble rubbish, which I suspect is supposed to be deep meaningful stuff but at the end of the day it’s just rubbish. Doesn’t make sense. The only way to describe this movie and it’s hard because I love movies, is a total mess.

Season 1. Depressing, simple story stretch to fit eight episodes. Nobody has a happy life, and just about everybody is unlikable. I found episode seven, particularly unrealistic, as Cora goes from intelligence (if troubled) young woman to really stupid young women when she readily puts her sisters life at risk, because of her obsession with a man who is clearly, and obviously, the worst scum you could find - sorry but no matter which way you look at this, it’s unrealistic. The depiction of Cora’s endless abuse as a child is bombastic and depressing, I felt myself saying to the TV “enough already” you’ve made your point 10 times over and then some, let’s move on. The big reveal at the end was bordering on being silly, certainly unrealistic.

It’s great. Don’t listen to the old boring self appointed film critics. This movie is great fun.
