I liked the first episode and decided to follow it. This must be be my twentieth night and I am amazed at the situations and dialogue - so not politically correct - that I cannot wait for the next night's entertainment. So big a cast; so many characters, you love them all. Each has his or her own foibles; his or her own weaknesses and his or her own strengths - but all with holes in them. Brilliant casting, brilliant writing and brilliant acting, makes it all look so easy.

Mystery Road is good on many fronts: it is set in Australia; it has an indigenous Australian as the lead; it is set in the rugged Australian outback; it usually involves aboriginal culture and gives the viewer an insight into that part of the world in which most of us are not familiar; it does not gloss over the poverty, alcohol, sex, drugs, crime and brutality of such remote regions and it has a plot-line and climax that always thrills.
