No one can pickup a guitar and play riffs like King Freddie can. It's been decades since the world lost this larger than life muscian. No matter how bad a day I'm having i can play the Texas Cannonball album and be transported to my basement where once again I will put everything I have learned in all my years of playing guitar towards playing along with him, and come up short again. I don't mind because its not measuring up to him that keeps me coming back to try again and again. The man had a serious talent for playing the guitar exactly the way he did, it just doesnt get any better than Freddie King burning up the fretboard on his Gibson 345. I'll say this, I may not be able to hold a candle to King Freddie, but trying to play along with him on this album and his others has made my guitar playing (riffing) immensely better.
This album never gets old, it a definitive example of the sound and ability a blues / rock guitarist strives to achieve.
Rest in peace Freddie King, you may be gone but you are far from forgotten.
