JJ Abrams gives us a conclusion to the story, started in 2015. Overall I never felt endeared to any of the characters in this trilogy, and the final film did nothing to change that. It reached back too much to old cliches, and the big reveal about Rey’s character wasn’t very spectacular at all. The inclusion of older characters without giving them much to do seemed pointless, and Kylo Ren was ultimately wasted as a character in this series. That the writers and directors wanted to give us a fresh look into the SW universe was a great idea, but the series never lived up to its expectations.

Very well acted! Season two increased the drama, and the finale neatly tied things up whilst leaving threads for the upcoming season. It’s one of the best finales I’ve seen on tv in a while. Equal parts positive along with optimism, hope and despair, which has become a trademark of this masterpiece of a show. The main cast did a great job all throughout, and despite the challenges coming with Jason Mitchell departing, the remaining cast is strong, and I look for them to deliver another powerful season next year.
