With the recent release of #3 I kept seeing Terrifier references in my feed non-stop so I finally sat down to peep this movie. Granted I know it had a tiny budget and was aiming for a good ol' slasher....but I'm sorry it just landed completely flat for me. I don't comprehend the raving reviews below of this is the amazing or raving about greatness. It's....ok. It's definitely sticking to a gameplan of shock value scenes without any story going on. I think it's a double edged sword having the antagonist being silent in that it adds to the character but I found the repetitive animated facial gestures to get boring. The story and dialogue just stinks. I just felt like it was completely lazy to rely on absurd murder scenes to carry the film. I've heard #2 is a lot better so granted I will check that out but if it's #1 just repackaged I'm not going to be a happy camper.

I had high hopes for this film and they did a decent job but I think it would've done the story better justice as a mini-series. I feel like being a film it just flew through very key moments. Also I know the actors are limited with their real life dimensions but I personally just found it distracting how small they appeared on screen. Granted don't get me wrong - Efron and White are huge in this film but honestly....they're not huge enough. Von Erich's were absolute gigantic monsters.

Just watching it in 2022 for the first time. It definitely grows on you despite some of the plot holes and overacting. I will say this series has a ridiculous amount of sex scenes - so much of which doesn't even have anything to do with the plot or character development. The fight scenes are absolutely insane and worth seeing alone on youtube if you're interested. I see a lot of complaints about it ended too soon but let's be honest - season 4 completely went off the rails. Half of it doesn't make sense and the characters storylines aren't consistent with the first 3 seasons. Don't know if it was entirely new writers for S4 but it's a stinker.
