Without a doubt, the greatest Christian fiction book I’ve read, and there’s many reasons for that, among them being the clarity of truth and glory of God that just exudes from the pages. Wow, there’s so many amazing things to say about this book that I wouldn’t know where to start. I feel like I could write a book just speaking about the profound blessing this book has been and all the wonderful and captivating things about the writing and storytelling. I was so into it as I was reading … it was an experience that is unrivaled as far as any other fiction book I have ever read in my life. Every page was like a cliff hanger in the sense that I just didn’t wanna stop reading. The characters and development and interactions and dialogue . . . it was all done so well, you could tell the author really knows children deeply. The pacing . . . Wow, the pacing! Reading this was like watching a movie. THIS BOOK MUST BECOME A MOVIE! Speaking of which, the descriptions were so great—it really made for an awe-inspiring reading experience. So, I don’t wanna give anything away, but I love how this book sets up the book series; I can’t wait for book 1 to come out. The main character in The First Yaqarian: Princess of Jesus is a girl named Madison, and following her story from beginning to end was so moving. This book brought tears to my eyes several times. It turns out to ultimately be a book about bullying/anti-bullying theme. Even when you think it’s gonna become some other type of story, it very cleverly stays consistent with the main theme. If you have the same reading experience as me, you will close the book feeling a personal bond with the book, like you’re acquainted not only with the story but the characters as well. You may even feel yourself missing them, just hoping that somehow you can have more of their story/the story. The climax and ending was powerful and beautiful, the middle was full of thrilling and weighty things that you didn’t expect, and the beginning has got to be on the top 5 beginnings to a story I’ve ever experienced from both books and film. You have to read this book, whether you are a Christian or not. I’m sure that for someone out there, it could save their life . . . in more than one way.
