As a special education teacher of 23 years, I am very happy they made a movie like this and cast a main character who has autism. But the storyline was weird, and it wasn’t funny (more of a drama than comedy). Also, Ezra I felt like was not like any student with autism I’ve worked with. Yes, every child with autism is different, just like everyone is different, and some things he did are very accurate, so it’s hard to explain why everything put together seemed a bit off. Also, unless that was a private school, schools can’t just expel a kids with a disability and they also can’t just tell them to get him on meds. But I did like aspects of the emotions portrayed and how parents sometimes need to fight hard for their kids with disabilities.
