Honestly, I may not have seen the movie yet, but I will. I stopped watching the Academy Awards about thirty years ago because of snubs like this. I like Will Smith, but best actor? A documentary would have been better than King George. Will is ok but has never had the depth of a thespian. And West Side Story is like a candied sweet. I saw the first one, and, yes it is dated and had smudged brown faces, but it is art Unless you it a soul, it is just fodder. It was one of my essays two years ago in my humanities class. From tanto to high scanning of the city to choreography, it made a mark that cannot be duplicated. The televised ceremony lost speed decades ago. The Oscar is bought and paid for and has cheapened itself to some pulp fiction. Samuel Jackson should have won also.

I usually enjoy it but tonight's "Weedification" almost made me want to scream at the hypocrisy. Marijuana should be legalized and treated like any alcohol and tobacco. She and the ultra conservative contributor from Colorado are out of touch with the real world. I expected any minute for then to drag out "Reefer Madness". Stop criminalizing marijuana and bringing up bias hypothetical situations.
