This is going to sound mean, and I don't regret it. I sat through seven hours of listening to this book on audible. Dear Lord, the voice acting is absolutely terrible. There is change in his voice, ever, from character to character or near death experience to talking about food. All the same bland voice. Now let's go past that and look at the writing, the first 20 minutes caught my attention but then it's a cliff dive from there. An amazing concept absolutely wasted, the characters are boring and they interact with each other like a hive mind. Their conversation are beyond single minded. The random food inserts, or "awkward moments" are random, and not in a good way. The character sounds like a complete moron. But then pulls out amazing feats or forethought and deliberately plans ahead. He feels like a walking contradiction. Since the amazing powers and environment concepts are muted by bland explanations of them, I could only find myself wanting someone to re write this story over and over and over again. To sum this whole experience up, bacon bacon ranch, I have magical god powers now listen to the world's worst rendition of Bodies- by drowning pool. Yep if that made absolutely no sense good, don't read this you'll thank me. And if that did make sense, I'm sorry you have shared the same experience I have.
