My 3yr old LOVES this movie. Being a ballerina helps...she is super wide eyed about the dances, it's really cute to see the "awe" in her eyes. She literally gets up and does the moves with them. She thinks she can LEAP! I think the story line leaves a bit to be desired (for an adult) though, but "for a child" to watch perseverance, hard work and will power triumph over mean spiritedness and lack, it's a story worth telling. And on their level...it's enough. I found the ending sweet. First the lesson...there are consequences when you don't prepare and do your best. However, NOT giving up despite, concluded with finally realizing her dream. To see her success on the Nutcracker stage was a big WIN for me. And the icing on the cake... finally having a mom to share her happiness with....priceless.
