I'm only giving it two starts because Ana de Armas really gives it her all. But the film critizes they're own narrative, exploiting Marilyn Monroe's life, fetishising trauma, lingering on the oversaxualized takes on her body. Hope Ana de Armas stayed hydrated because for the amount of times she appears bowling her eyes out are like 80% of the film, if not more. I don't quite understand what the film was trying to do or be for that matter, it works as a horror film, terrorizing us with daddy issues and how men constantly abused Monroe. The film does that too, abuse the late memory of a century icon, only poiting out her flaws and abuse. Would only recommend if you are wanting to watch trauma dump for almost 3hrs.
