I'm not a fan of RE, nor a RE lore expert. I just wanted to see interesting zombie/ post apocalyptic show. But, it's another unfortunate Netflix adoption. The formula is simple: get a licence for well known franchise +don't study it + add a current trend (nowadays it's woke)+ invest a lot of money. The "quality" is perfectly demonstrated in the first scene. Do you want to say that highly trained scientist who survived in hostile environment won't follow simple safety instructions??? Later on, when Racoons and Umbrella are shown... It's awful... It's just a shallow caricature of rich suburbans and evil corporation. Of course there is a school drama, which is the main thing that I wanted to see in post apocalyptic setting. And don't let me started on woke themes all over the series. So in the end is just a mess. Ok, let's say it's a teen drama, which is expected to be simple, but the rating is 18+. It is a zombie movie, but where are zombies?? Most of the time we are in 2022. So who is the audience of this series and how to properly characterize it?
