My main complaint is that 3 Below is pretty disconnected from the rest of the Arcadia installments. It barely reveals anything on how the Trollhunters story continues and doesn't do much to lead into Wizards. The villains had cool designs, but they were pretty shallow in personality and motivation. So the tensions weren't strongly felt. I also felt the technology was a bit too plot convenient. So much so that it almost feels like it can cross into the realm of being magic. But at least Aja and Krel were charming and likable protagonists. And Steve gets some great development. It was cool seeing him go from high school bully to a creep slayer to someone who protects otherworldly beings to being a boyfriend that genuinely cares about Aja. Too bad they turn him into a dumb comic relief in Wizards.
