Had some good points, but the protagonist is so hard to like. I’m more disappointed because I think the true story behind it was so inspirational. I loved the book and would suggest reading that over watching the show.

A complete bore to watch, impossible to follow along. The trailer was very misleading, leading to believe it’s a political action thriller when in reality it was a long drawn out mess.

I was on the fence about seeing this movie especially after seeing the solemn trailer. Initial thoughts aside the movie is in fact very dark and sometimes you can feel yourself seeing the pain and frustration as your own as everything possible works against him. It’s a dark film but I think the ending was it’s redemption and a perfect end. For those looking to watch it I will tell you it’s a very dark film at times but there are many beautiful moments scattered throughout and for me it was a perfect telling of how life can be. Given all the other mindless choices at the movie theater it was refreshing to see a movie that made you think about your life and had so much depth. For such a long movie it didn’t feel that way at all.
Once you learn more about the painting the movie has even more meaning and pain. It adds so much more weight to the character and the constant inner conflict and turmoil he feels. You see so many unhealthy relationships but there are also many many beautiful ones too of true friendship and mentor ship that can’t be dismissed. The ending leaves you feeling like the weight you had seeing his plight is lifted and you can feel his silent joy as your own. Very beautiful ending.

I used to watch more HGTV but it seems like lately it’s lost some of its luster. Christina comes off as showy and materialistic which is unfortunate. I don’t care for her designs in comparison to other talented designers such as Leanne Ford or Joanna Gaines that really design for their client not themselves. I have transitioned to watching Bravo now for home decor/design shows. I hope moving forward Restored by the Fords is focused more because Leanne is a true talent.
