I was very interested in reading this book since I live on Long Island. But the grammatical errors made it difficult to get through the book. It was poorly edited. These are only some of the examples: Pgs. 30 & 36 - the word written is "causalities" & I believe he meant to say "casualties". Pg. 51 - WAAC - Axillary is incorrect. It should be Auxiliary. Pg. 87 - "Long Island was also surrounding (should be surrounded). Pg. 107 - Is it Kartvelishvili or Kartvelishi? Pg. 119 - The Genova Treaty? Um, how about the Geneva Treaty. Pg. 139 - consertation camps should be concentration camps.
There were inconsistencies with the spelling of town names. Rockville Centre, not Center. Mineola, not Minneola. Pinelawn, not Pine Lawn.
There were quite a few articles missing too - a, of, the, etc.
As far as the information included in the book, each chapter seemed to ramble on with various bits of information. It's too bad because this could have been a much better presentation of Long Island and it's involvement in WWII.
