Great show, mediocre ending. Relatively good casting and acting, with somewhat lacking parents and occasionally forced dialogue. Great cinematography and engaging writing the whole way through. There were definitely a lot of WOW moments in the show. However, the ending fell super flat for me. For one, it was rushed, and the six or so episodes of buildup left me disappointed at the short climax. (Spoilers ahead) Then they did the classic double cross, where they reveal an unlikely character was the bad guy all along, only they did it twice with two different characters. And they both followed the exact same trope, where said good guy turned bad guy reveals that their whole personality before was basically acting, and they become super cruel and evil. It was just a disappointing ending overall, which was a shame in my eyes since I thought the show was really going strong for the first 6 or 7 episodes. Still a good watch.

I know that some people are going to say that this anime is great, but it’s not. The animation is lazy and subpar, and I have noticed ENTIRE CHARACTER ANIMATION SEQUENCES COPYPASTED. Several times they reuse the animation of Rin pulling out the sword. The storyline and arcs are flimsy at best, and the writers do a great job of not emotionally attaching me to any of the characters. And their portrayal of Satan was just bad. Apparently they were too lazy to just come up with a character design for satan, so they just made him possess people. He wasn’t powerful, and his abilities were the same as Rins which made it boring. When he came out of the Gehenna Gate on top of the roof and possessed Yukio, he just stood there and did nothing. Like, literally. He did not do anything. To be honest, the best part of the show was when Rin fought the Amaimon guy. That fight was pretty awesome. The way that they made Amaimon seem powerless at first but then shocked the viewer with a power reveal was actually pretty good. Overall, I don’t know how anybody could give this 5 stars. If you compared this with another five star anime like Demon Slayer, it lacks in story, characters, animation quality, VFX, etc. Not a great show and I don’t recommend watching it as it is a huge letdown and a huge waste of time.
