A pianist, a person with music in her soul was not allowed to play the piano. A soul seeking for righteousness, sacrificed herself to be a nun was told that she was not ever good enough. A “mistake” not a fault of hers haunted her and corrupted her vision of herself. With a little help of a dirty policeman, her own guilt and her own misjudgment, she was made to keep herself in filth and disgrace, rather than to accept forgiveness and the grace that was offered to her. Her fight for survival and her stubborn perseverance to live and her continuous work on doing what she thought was the the best for herself, she deserves to be remembered.
This movie touched me in some special ways. It made me question our choices in life, the fear for mistakes and breaking laws, what is right and wrong, forgiveness from others and from ourselves, why we make our choices, our desires to be honest and good, our needs to be loved and cared for even when we deem ourselves “bad” and the need for human touch and connection. What is life all about? What is keeping us from being more? What is the valued of our lives?
