Though I was born a year after WWII, I’ve always been interested in the lives of those who sacrificed their lives for a cause they believed in, and gave their all to stop those in power wishing to control the world. Pictures like these should be contemplated. We must come to learn that unless we value our lives and the lives of others, we will continue to waste the lives of our brothers and sisters and the resources we take for granted. May those who watch this picture do so in gratitude and with hope for peace and unity in the days and years to come.
