dear evan hansen is supposed to deal with the uncomfortable emotions. it is not a happily ever after ending; it is a hopeful ending. ben platt so beautifully portrays the depth of the hard and darkest places of ourselves - the “worst of me.” people need to get over the fact that he’s not a teenager - he’s a freaking talented human who does a 10/10 job embodying Evan Hansen. i was also really impressed by the story-telling of the plot. While a bit slow-moving, i was pleasantly surprised by being “drawn in” to Alayna and Zoe’s characters especially (& not just Evan). It’s worth watching!
